The University of Louisville Athletic Department is proud to announce an 18-game home schedule for the Louisville men’s and women’s soccer teams for the 2011 season.
Men’s soccer head coach Ken Lolla and the national runner-up Cardinals are back and ready for the opportunity to return to the College Cup. Lolla and the Cardinals possess a veteran team hungry for a national title. Led by preseason MAC Hermann Trophy watch list members Austin Berry and Colin Rolfe, Louisville has one of the toughest schedules in college soccer, playing seven teams ranked in the top 25, including its first home game vs. No. 2 UCLA. Make sure you come out and support them in their quest back to the College Cup.
The Louisville women’s soccer team started off the 2010 season strong with seven-straight victories, earning them a top-25 ranking. Along the way, the Cardinals posted a victory at No. 13 South Carolina and defeated in-state rival Kentucky. Under head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes, the squad returns eight starters, including BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, Christine Exeter. The Cardinals' home schedule is highlighted by two preseason top-25 squads in No. 24 Illinois, the team’s home opener, and No. 12 Marquette.
