The University of Louisville volleyball team drew Purdue in the first round of the NCAAs and will play Friday at 6:30 p.m. in West Lafayette.

It is the 19th NCAA Appearance and the 11th straight for the 19-10 Cardinals, who will face the No. 10 ranked Boilermakers, who post a 24-8 record.

The winner will advance to play the winner of the Miami (OH) (21-11) /Middle Tennessee (26-7) matchup at 5 p.m. Saturday.

"We are happy to be going to the Dance. We have overcome injuries and other obstacles to get here," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin. "I am happy to be playing only three or four hours away so our fans can travel and support us."

U of L fell to Purdue 3-0 earlier this season at the Dayton Flyer Classic. While there, the Cardinals beat Miami of Ohio 3-2. The Cardinals have lost to Middle Tennessee in the first round of the NCAAs in 2006 and 2007 both in the KICC.
