PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Freshman middle blocker Rui Lui earned BIG EASTRookie of the Week honors, respectively, for the week ending Oct. 30. Her team moved to No. 7 in the national rankings as U of L marked its first loss of the season.

Liu provided a spark for the Cardinals against No. 7 Notre Dame by hitting a torrid .786 - 11 kills on 14 attacks and noerrors. The freshman from Nei Meng Gu, China tallied eight block assists in Louisville's two matches last week, and posted 10 kills while hitting .353 in a sweep of DePaul.

The University of Louisville moved to No. 7 in the CSTV/AVCA Volleyball Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Cardinals, 21-1, hit the road again this week as they face BIG EAST opponent Georgetown before heading south to old rival South Florida. It is the first meeting with the Hoyas and the Cardinals lead the USF series 16-4.
