Ustymenko Named BIG EAST Player of the Week 10/3

Ustymenko, who has been selected as the conference's player of the week the for the second time in three weeks, led undefeated Louisville to three more victories while posting 50 kills (.333 pct.), three assists, three service aces, 30 digs and six total blocks. The Cardinals avenged their last regular season loss by defeating Tennessee, which was ranked ahead of U of L in the preseason CSTV/AVCA national poll, in five games. Louisville also swept Villanova, which had been unbeaten in conference play, and Rutgers.

Rank Stays Steady at No. 6

The University of Louisville hold steady at the lofty No. 6 in Poll #5 of the CSTV/AVCA Poll. U of L's ranking of No. 6 last week was the high water mark for the Cardinals. U of L has fellow Top 25 members Notre Dame and Ohio, on the schedule. U of L has also faced teams receiving votes: Long Beach and Tennessee. U of L stays No. 7 in the Molten/Volleyball Magazine Poll.
