Louisville has been selected as the site of the 2004 Volleyball South Region by the Division I Women's Volleyball Committee. The University of Louisville will act as hosts for the event which will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

The volleyball committee selected four regional sites: the KICC in Louisville, the Sports Pavilion in Minneapois; Bank America Arena in Seattle and the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The regionals will be held Dec. 9-10 or 11-12.

"We are honored to be allowed to host this event," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin. "We have hosted first and second round matches before and our local fan base has responded with great support. I know the Volleyball Committee knows our commitment to host a first class event. This will showcase some of the best volleyball in the country in front of some of the most knowledgeable fans in the country. We are very excited about this opportunity."
