A recurring injury has ended Brittney Counts' collegiate career, but she returns to the dugout as a student assistant for the 2008-09 season.

Counts was an outfielder for the Cardinal softball team for the past three seasons and redshirted in 2005. During her career, she was a part of two BIG EAST titles and three NCAA tournament teams.

Counts was a three-year letterwinner, a two-time BIG EAST honor roll member and a three-time member of the U of L Athletic Director's honor roll. She will earn her Bachelor's degree in exercise science in May, 2009.
