LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Brandi Chastain, the 1999 Women's World Cup hero for Team USA and an Olympic gold medalist, will headline the 2010 Louisville Women's Soccer Kickoff Dinner on Aug. 13 at 6 p.m., ET at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Louisville.

The Kickoff Dinner will feature an autograph session with Chastain from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m., with dinner and entertainment to follow. There will also be a silent auction held throughout the evening. Tickets for the event can be purchased for $35 each for adults and $25 for children 12 and under by calling (502) 852-0101 or by completing the registration form here and emailing it to j0hugh02@louisville.edu.

The Friday night Kickoff Dinner will open an exciting weekend for the Louisville soccer program, which will conclude on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. ET, with an exhibition game at Cardinal Park against Tennessee. Admission will be free for Saturday's game, which will be preceded by a free soccer clinic with Louisville players from 5 to 6 p.m.

Chastain is best known for scoring the fifth kick in the penalty shootout to give the United States the win over China in the final game of the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. She also won a gold medal while playing in every minute of every game for the U.S. National Team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Overall, she played for the U.S. National Team from 1988 to 2004.
