CARSON, Calif. - University of Louisville goalkeeper Joanna Haig has been invited to the US Soccer under 21 National Team camp February 17-24 in Carson, California at the Home Depot Center.

Haig, who will be a senior this fall for the Cardinals, competed with the US Soccer U-20 National Team last fall at the 2006 FIFA Women's World Championship in Russia.

"We are all very excited for Joanna and wish her the best at the upcoming under 21 national camp," said Louisville Head Coach Karen Ferguson.

"She is coming off of a fantastic college season and I know she will be prepared both mentally and physically for the demands at the national team level. She is a very talented and determined young woman and we're happy that she has been given this wonderful opportunity"

Haig, in her first season with the Cardinals after transferring from Iowa State, established a school record with her 0.49 GAA and she did not allow a goal over the final 376 minutes of the season. She was named a fourth-team All-American by Soccer Buzz, becoming the third All-American in Cardinal history

She posted eight shutouts for the season, tying the single season school record, despite not playing in the first four matches of the season.

A member of the All-Region second team last season and the All-Region freshman team in 2004, Haig was honorable mention All-BIG EAST with the Cardinals.
