LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville senior Beth Daunhauer was named CRCA Second Team All-America by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association last week becoming the second Cardinal rower in school history to earn such an honor.

Daunhauer, a graduate of Seneca High School in Louisville, Ky., led the Cards' Varsity 8+ crew to wins over three Top 20 teams in 2007 and the program's highest national ranking ever at No. 16 on March 28. The Cards closed the season ranked at No. 17 in the final USRowing/CRCA Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. U of L also earned a runner-up finish at the BIG EAST Conference Championships and a Varsity 8+ petite final victory at the Aramark South/Central Region Sprints.

"Beth exemplifies all the things that are special about our women in our rowing program at the University of Louisville," said Cards' head coach Richard Ruggieri. "This is a great reward for her hard work and dedication to her teammates. She's displayed leadership by example throughout her career and we're looking forward to many great things for her in the future."

Last month, Daunhauer was earned CRCA National Scholar Athlete honors and was named First Team All-South Region. With the latest honor, Daunhauer joins Ameila Buhts as the only Cardinal rowers to All-America honors. Buhts was named Second Team All-America by CRCA in 2005.
