Final Stats

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Louisville lacrosse team earned the first road win in the program's inaugural season as Lianne Bobal, Emily Dashiell and Bergan Foley scored three goals each to lead the Cards to a 15-13 win at La Salle on Sunday afternoon.

After falling behind 8-7 in the first six minutes of the second half, the Cards (3-1) responded by scoring five straight goals over a span of seven minutes and 30 seconds to take a 12-8 lead with 16:19 left in the game. The Explorers (0-4) got as close as two goals on three different occasions over the final 16:09, but never could get any closer as the Cards bounced back from Friday's disappointing double-overtime loss at St. Joseph's.

The Explorers closed to within 13-11 with 9:46 left, but the Cards put the game out of reach with goals from Foley (9:19 left) and Bobal (7:44) over the next two minutes. Foley, a native of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., leads the Cards with 19 goals through the first five games, while Dashiell is second with 14. First-year midfielder Sammy Allen led the Cards on Sunday with two assists.

Louisville controlled 21 of 28 draws on the day, led by seven from Dashiell and the Cards caused 15 of the Explorers 17 turnovers. Emily Bonczek led La Salle with a game-high seven goals.

The Cards held a 7-6 advantage at halftime after getting two first-half goals each from Dashiell and Foley. Sierra Smith-Hart scored both of her goals in the second half during the Cards' stretch of five-straight overall.

Up next, the Cards will face Lafayette College on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, in Easton, Pa., in the third of five games during their spring break road trip. The Cards will also play at Rutgers (Friday) and at Villanova (Sunday) this week.
