Eugene, Ore. - Louisville's Cindy LaCrosse advanced to the second round of match play in the US Women's Amateur. LaCrosse will continue match play tomorrow as she faces Erynne Lee, who is seeded 51st, at 9:40 a.m. PDT.

LaCrosse had an easy day defeating Pennapa Pulsawath 9 and 7, by nine strokes with seven holes left. Sara-Maude Juneau lost her match play to Tracy Nichols. Juneau entered the final hole down one stroke and Nichols won the 18th hole, winning the match 2up.

Match play is a competition played by holes rather than total strokes for the round. Two opponents will play against each other and while there may be other players on the course, each group is its own match and has nothing to do with the rest of the field. The winners of each match keep advancing until there is only one player left.
