Little and White to Selected to Compete in NCAA Golf Championship
April 25, 2005 Louisville, Ky. - The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced that Louisville's Adrienne White and Meghan Little were selected to participate in the 2005 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships Regionals. This marks the first time in school history that two individuals were selected to the NCAA Championship field. White and Little will compete in the East regional which will be played May 5-7 at the University of Florida Golf Course, Gainesville, Florida, hosted by the University of Florida. "Adrienne and Meghan had a great year and I am so glad that they get to experience this," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "I am so proud of all their hard work this season despite all the adversity. They led this team by example all year with their work ethic and determination. They are probably the best one two punch in the east region." White leads the team with a scoring average of 75.2 and five Top 10 finishes and two Top 20 finishes on the season. Little is second on the team with a scoring average of 75.3 and has six Top 10 finishes and one Top 20 finish on the season. White earned first team All-Conference USA honors and Little was named to the second team. A total of 324 participants have been selected for the regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals May 17-20. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each region. The championships finals will be held at Sunriver Resort on the Meadows Course, Sunriver, Oregon, hosted by Oregon State University and Sunriver Resort.
