Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville Women's basketball team will open up exhibition play against Northern Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 1 in Freedom Hall at 2:00 p.m.

The Cardinals are coming off a record breaking season in 2008-09, making in their first Final Four Appearance and advancing to the National Championship game. Louisville set a school record in wins with an overall record of 34-5. The Cardinals were picked to finish in a tie for third of the BIG EAST conference by the league coaches last week.

Northern Kentucky recorded a 29-3 season overall in 2008-09, winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship and advancing as the No. 1 seed to the NCAA Division II regional semifinals. The Norse are replacing four starters this season.

The Cardinals posted a 90-73 victory over NKU, shooting 51.6 percent from the field, in last year's exhibition at the Bank of Kentucky Center.

Louisville will open the regular season on the road at Dayton on November 15th at 1:00 p.m.
