Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team was ranked in the Top 15 in the nation in average attendance for the first time in school history. The Cardinals ranked 12th in the country among all NCAA Division I schools in 2007-08, averaging 6,456 fans at 12 home contests. Louisville set the school record with a sellout crowd of 19,123 and won the NCAA's Pack the House promotion last year.

The Cardinals were ranked as the team with the largest increase from the previous year. Louisville was ranked 39th in attendance during the 2006-07 season with an average of 3,104. The Cardinals more than doubled their average with a 3,352 change in average.

The Cardinals played in 17 games that had attendance of 5,000 or greater. Both games against Connecticut were the two largest attended games of the season. The first time the two teams met in January the Cards broke the attendance record with 19,123 in the stands and the rematch was in the BIG EAST Tournament Final where 9,982 fans were in attendance. The Cardinals' second largest crowd was 6,845 against South Florida on fan appreciation night.
