Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team fell74-68 in overtime to Cincinnati on Tuesday evening in Freedom Hall. The Cardinals fall to 11-11 overall and 3-6 in BIG EAST play. Louisville had three players score in double figures led by Monique Reid with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Becky Burke contributed 18 points and seven rebounds, along with freshman Shelby Harper who scored a career-high 15 points.

Cincinnati had three players score in double figures led by Shareese Ulis with 23 points. Kahla Roudebush was one rebound shy of a triple double with 19 point, 10 assists and nine rebounds. Michelle Jones contributed 18 points and nine rebounds. The Bearcats improve to 10-11 overall and 3-6 in the BIG EAST.

Louisville started out the game in an early hole, finding themselves down 5-0 in the opening minutes. Harper knocked down a 3-pointer at the 18:50 mark to cut the lead to 5-3, but over the next four minutes the Cardinals were outscored 9-2 and saw the Bearcats' lead grow to 14-5 at the 15:03 mark.

Harper once again showed her outside range knocking down two consecutive 3-pointers to cut the Cincinnati lead to 14-11 at the 13:14 mark in the first half. Over a three and a half minute stretch during the half, Louisville was held scoreless and Cincinnati was able to six straight points to expand the lead 27-16 before Hines finally scored on a layup ending the drought at the 5:07 mark.

The Cardinals were able to cut a 29-18 Cincinnati lead to five points off a 3-pointer at the 3:22 mark, but the Bearcats held Louisville scoreless for nearly the rest of the half before a last second shot went in for Brandie Radde, who scored seven points in her first game back with the Cardinals, to cut the lead to 34-26 at the half.

Louisville finished the half shooting 43.5 percent from the floor, while Cincinnati shot 48.1 percent. The Cardinals were outrebounded in the half 17-12.

The Cardinals started out the second half on a 13-2 run, taking the lead for the first time in the game off a 3-pointer from Harper. Leading 42-40 at the 15:45 mark, Louisville went on a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 47-40, their largest at that point in the game. Both teams continued through most of the half trading baskets.

Louisville went out to its largest lead of the game when Harper hit her fifth 3-pointer of the game to extend the Cardinal lead to 60-51 at the 5:30 mark. The Cardinals were held scoreless for over four minutes after the Harper 3-pointer, while Cincinnati went on a 9-0 run to tie the score at 60 with 1:32 remaining. Both teams scored one more basket and Louisville had a chance to win the game, but a shot attempt from Reid was no good sending the game into overtime.

The Cardinals allowed a quick field goal from Roudebush at the 4:38 mark, which sparked an 8-3 run by the Bearcats. Louisville could not stop Cincinnati from scoring and were unable to score a field goal in overtime themselves, with all their points coming from the free throw line. Two free throws from Roudebush at the 0:25 mark sealed the win for Cincinnati with the final score 74-68.

Louisville finished the game shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, while Cincinnati shot 43.3 percent. The Cardinals were outrebounded by the Bearcats 37-33. Keshia Hines finished the game with a career-high six assists.
