LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville head coaches Arthur Albiero (swimming & diving) and Ron Mann (track & field) met with reporters Wednesday at the Yum! Center to discuss the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics on Aug. 8-24 in Beijing, China.

Albiero will coach the Romanian swim team, which will include UofL swimmer Vali Preda. Also swimming for Romania is Stefan Gherghel, an NCAA national champion who swam for Albiero when he coached at Alabama. Under the tutelage of Albiero at UofL, the Cardinals have reset virtually every school record, earned its first ever national ranking and competed at the NCAA National Championships.

Mann, a three-time BIG EAST coach of the year who led the Louisville men's and women's track and field teams to their first ever conference titles in 2007 and 2008, will coach the men's middle distance runners for Team USA in Beijing. Entering his fifth season at UofL and his 29th overall as a collegiate head coach, Mann's previous international coaching experience includes the 2005 World Championships and the 1993 PanAm Games.

Along with Albiero and Mann, Louisville field hockey head coach Pam Bustin will serve as an assistant on Team USA's field hockey squad in Beijing.
