The No. 7/9 Louisville men's soccer team travels up to South Bend Friday, Sept. 25 to face BIG EAST foe Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. The game will be televised live on ESPNU.
The Cardinals enter the match-up with an overall record of 5-0-1 and a perfect BIG EAST record of 2-0-0. Last time out, the Cardinals outmatched fellow BIG EAST opponent, Pittsburgh 5-0 for their second straight conference win. Sophomore forward Colin Rolfe and senior midfielder Freddie Braun lead the Cardinals with three goals a piece. Louisville is outscoring their opponents 15-1 so far this season. Leading the way in the goal is sophomore goalkeeper Andre Boudreaux. Boudreaux has a 0.16 goals against average allowing only one goal all season with five shutouts already matching his total from last season.
The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame come into the match with an overall record of 3-3-1 and a 1-1-0 BIG EAST record. Notre Dame is coming off a conference loss to No. 5 USF. The Irish are led by senior forward Bright Dike with five goals and an assist on the season. Andrew Quinn and Phillip Tuttle are splitting the time in the goal for the Fighting Irish, with each having a goals against average of 1.00 or more.
