Fort Wayne, Ind. - The 23rd ranked Louisville men's soccer team played Ohio State to a 2-2 draw in a preseason exhibition game as part of the National Soccer Festival hosted by IPFW. The Cardinals finish the preseason undefeated with a 2-0-1 record. Ohio State finished the preseason with a 1-0-1 mark.

The Buckeye's Doug Verhoff scored the first goal of the game in the 25th minute with a header off a free kick by Konrad Warzycha that went inside the left pole. The Buckeyes kept a 1-0 lead until the final minute of the first period when redshirt freshman Colin Rolfe slotted a shot inside the far left post from the top right corner of the penalty area to send the teams into intermission with a 1-1 tie.

The Buckeye's David Tiemstra gave Ohio State the lead once again with the help of freshman Chris Hegngi who passed the ball out to the left for Tiemstra to stuff in the back of the net at the 52:19 mark. Louisville took advantage of an open goal after the Buckeye keeper came out to make a stop and Luis Pacheco-Marin stuffed the rebound inside the near post, along the lower left 90 in the 73rd minute.

The Cardinals kick off the regular season on Friday, Sept. 4 at the UK Invitational against Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. in the UK Soccer Complex.
