Final Stats

Louisville, Ky. - The Cardinals got on the board early in the match when Clapham took a free kick from 30 yards out and Ryan McDonald found it in front of the goal mouth to score in the 12th minute of play. Louisville kept the offensive pressure on the Purple Aces with two more shots on goal. Clapham scored just inside the box in the 19th minute to give the Cards a 2-0 lead.

Both teams finished the first half with five shots. Redshirt freshman Andre Boudreaux made his first start and finished the first period with one save while Evansville's Alec Duffy finished with two saves.

The second half was a strong defensive by both teams. The Cardinals held the Purple Aces to just one shot in the second half. Junior goalkeeper David Simolike finished with one save while Evansville's Phil Boerger finished with two.

For the match the Cardinals had nine shots, with six on goal while Evansville finished with six shots, with two on goal. The Cards held a seven to one corner kick advantage over the Purple Aces.

The Cardinals will wrap up exhibition play against Michigan State on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
