Brian Maisonneuve is in his second season with the Louisville men's soccer staff. Maisonneuve joined the staff in April after a four year stint as an assistant coach with the U.S. U-17 National Team.

Maisonneuve comes to Louisville after spending the last four years as an assistant coach with the U.S. U-17 National Team. He also served as an assistant coach for the U.S. U-20 National team in 2007 during the CONCACAF qualification process. He also coached the U-20 team in the FIFA World Cup in Canada.

He brings a wealth of playing experience with him. Maisonneuve played nine seasons with the Columbus Crew. He quickly earned a starting position for the Crew and started in 83 games his first three seasons. He sat out the 2000 season with an ankle injury but quickly retained his starting position when he returned in 2001. Maisonneuve scored 23 goals and 37 assists in his pro career.

Maisonneuve trained with the U.S. Olympic Team in 1995 after finishing his collegiate career with the Indiana Hoosiers. He was a key member of the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team that finished ninth at the Centennial Olympic Games. He led the team with two goals in the Olympic tournament - one that sealed a victory over Tunisia and another that brought the U.S. to a 1-1 tie with Portugal.

Maisonneuve was called up to the U.S. National Team in 1997 during World Cup qualifying. He played in all three of the United States' games at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.

Maisonneuve is a four year letterwinner at Indiana University. He was the recipient of the 1994 Hermann Trophy his senior year. He started every game for the Hoosiers during his career. He finished his career with 44 goals and 22 assists. He earned All-American honors his junior and senior seasons. Maisonneuve was named the Big 10 Player of the Year his junior and senior seasons. He was also earned Big 10 Academic honors his final three seasons.

Maisonneuve was a Parade All-American at De LaSalle Collegiate High School. He led them to the Michigan State Championship his senior year. he finished his prep career with 70 goals and 63 assists.

Maisonneuve and his wife Diania reside in Louisville with their two children, Jacob (6) and Emma (1).
