LaQuinta, Calif. - - Two-time All-American golfer Derek Fathauer will compete in the Final Stage of the PGA Tour's Qualifying Tournament this week at PGA West. The 108-hole tournament runs from Wednesday, December 3 through Monday, December, 8, 2008.

The tournament will be played over two of PGA West's championship courses, the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course and the TPC Stadium Course, home to one of golf's most diabolical holes, the par 3 island green No. 17 appropriately nicknamed "Alcatraz."

The 156-man field competes over six rounds with the top 25 and ties earning their 2009 PGA Tour card. The next 50 finishers earn full-time status on the Nationwide Tour with the remaining players earning partial status on the Nationwide Tour.

First and second round tee times have been posted with Derek Fathauer to begin play Wednesday at 9:50 a.m. off No. 10 tee on the Nicklaus Tournament Course. Fathauer is scheduled to tee of Thursday at 8:40 a.m. off No. 1 tee of the Stadium Course.

Live scoring will be located on the internet at www.pgatour.com. Television coverage will be on the Golf Channel beginning Saturday, December 6th and 7th from 4 - 7 p.m. and Monday, December 8th from 3:30 - 7 p.m.
