Cardinal Alums Continue Quest for PGA Tour Cards in 2010

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - Ted Schulz posted a 2-over par 73 Thursday at the TPC of Scottsdale in the third round of the Champions Tour Q-School. He is tied for 21st place heading in to today's final round.

At the end of four rounds, the top five finishers earn fully-exempt status for the 2010 Champions Tour season, while the next seven players will be conditionally exempt. In addition, the top 30 finishers and ties will be eligible to compete for spots in open qualifiers at all co-sponsored events on the Champions Tour next year. The $200,000 purse features a $30,000 check for first place.

Derek Fathauer, Grant Sturgeon and Adam Hadwin are currently competing in the Second Stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. Each are playing at different sites that require them to finish in the top 20 to advance to the Final Stage held December 2-7 at Bear Lakes Golf Club in West Palm Beach, FL.

Fathauer followed up his opening round 70 with a solid 4-under par 68 to zoom up the leaderboard. His 6-under par total of 138 has him tied for 12th place halfway through the Second Stage at Callaway Gardens located just south of Atlanta, Ga.

Sturgeon posted an even par 72 in the second round and stands tied for 61st place at 146 (+2). Sturgeon is competing in Brookville, Fla. at the Southern Hills Plantation Course.

Hadwin is playing in Beaumont, Calif. at Oak Valley Golf Club and dropped back to T53 after a second round 2-over par 74. His even par total is just three shots out of the top 20.
