Four Louisville Alumni Compete for Respective PGA Tour Cards in 2010

Louisville, Ky.- - Following play on Wednesday, Ted Schulz sits alone in seventh place after scores of 69-65---134 (-8). The 36-hole leader is Steve Haskins at 11-under par on the par 71 TPC of Scottsdale. At the end of four rounds, the top five finishers earn fully-exempt status for the 2010 Champions Tour season, while the next seven players will be conditionally exempt. In addition, the top 30 finishers and ties will be eligible to compete for spots in open qualifiers at all co-sponsored events on the Champions Tour next year. The $200,000 purse features a $30,000 check for first place.

Derek Fathauer, Grant Sturgeon and Adam Hadwin are currently competing in the Second Stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament.

Fathauer sits in a tie for 32nd place after an opening round of 2-under par 70 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA. Ken Duke and Kevin Kisner own a share of the first round lead after posting 8-under par 64's.

Sturgeon, who played in last year's PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club, posted an opening round 2-over par 74. He is tied for 66th place at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, FL. Three players, Hugo Leon, Sunny Kim and Kevin Fortin-Simard, are tied for the lead after shooting 7-under par 65.

Hadwin posted a 2-under par 70 to sit in a tie for 27th place. The first round leader is Brendan Steele after posting a 9-under par 63 on the 7,003 yard par 72 layout.

There are six sites in the Second Stage and each 72 hole event features 81 players seeking to earn one of the top 20 places to advance to the Final Stage.
