Louisville, Ky. - -
The University of Louisville men's golf team has been recognized as an Outstanding Academic Team for 2008-2009 season, according to the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The award, in its first year, recognizes those schools whose entire squad
earns an overall GPA for the academic year of 3.0 or higher. Additionally,
those schools whose team GPA is 3.5 or higher will be recognized with the
President's Recognition Awards. The Academic Team Champions, those schools
with the highest team GPA, are listed by division as follows:
The Cardinals were one of just 45 schools in NCAA Division I to be recognized by the GCAA for their academic performance.
"That is a very prestigious honor for our program," said head coach Mark Crabtree."It's a great achievement and truly says how hard our players worked on and off the field. We have accomplished many great things on the course over the last few years, but this accomplishment makes me very proud as a head coach."
