The University of Louisville men's golf team wrapped up the opening round of the Ron Smith/USF Invitational by shooting a combined 5-under, 283 leaving them in a tie with Marquette for second place.
The Cardinals were led by Riley Wheeldon who is in first-place overall after shooting a 6-under 66. Karsten Clements is tied for 20th after a 1-under 71.
Adam Hadwin and Connor Arendell are tied for 48th overall after carding a 1-over 73. Justin Dorward rounds outs the group in a tie for 61st place after shooting 2-over 74.
After the first day of the Ron Smith/USF Invitational, Missouri State leads the field with a combined 7-under 281.
Round two of the Ron Smith/ USF Invitational will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday at the par-72, 7153-yard Jake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla.
