    MIAMI - The fifth-ranked University of Louisville football team arrived in Miami, Fla., on Tuesday afternoon and officially opened preparations for the 2007 FedEx Orange Bowl Wednesday morning at Barry University.

    The Cards practiced for almost two hours Wednesday in their first practice session since Dec. 21 in Louisville. Following the practice session, UofL head coach Bobby Petrino and several Cardinal players met with television and newspaper reporters.

    The BIG EAST champion Cardinals will face ACC champion Wake Forest on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 8:23 p.m. ET at Dolphin Stadium and UofL's first Bowl Championship Series game will be televised nationally on FOX-TV.

    UofL will continue preparations for the FedEx Orange Bowl on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET at Barry University.
