LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville football head coach Steve Kragthorpe, senior wide receiver Patrick Carter and junior defensive tackle Earl Heyman met with members of the media on Monday to review last week's win at Cincinnati and preview this week's BIG EAST road game at Connecticut. The Cards and Huskies will meet on Friday at 8 p.m. ET at Rentschler Field and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
The Cardinals evened their record at 1-1 in the BIG EAST and 4-3 overall with an impressive 28-24 win over 15th-ranked Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium. Senior quarterback Brian Brohm was huge in the second half in guiding the Cardinals to their first league win. Brohm completed 28-of-38 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns and senior wide receiver Harry Douglas returned to action after missing two games with seven catches for 118 yards.
Sophomore running back Anthony Allen put the Cardinals ahead for good when he scored from three yards out with 10:37 to play. The Cardinals' defense came up big, forcing four turnovers and limiting Cincinnati to a season-low 24 points. Junior linebacker Lamar Myles led the Cardinals with 12 tackles and Richard Raglin and Woodny Turenne added their first career interceptions.
UConn enters the game at 5-1 overall and 1-0 in BIG EAST play following last week's 17-16 non-conference loss at Virginia. The loss was the first of the season for the Huskies. On Sept. 22, UConn opened BIG EAST action with an impressive 34-14 win at Pittsburgh and the Huskies are currently atop the conference standings along with USF.

Louisville and Connecticut will meet for the fourth time in school history when the two schools face off on Friday night. The Cardinals own a 3-0 advantage in the series, which dates back to the 2000 season. The Cardinals won in their first visit to Connecticut back in 2005 when the Cardinals won 30-20 in Hunter Cantwell's first career start. The Cardinals won the series debut between the two schools in 2000, 41-22. Louisville hammered the Huskies last season at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, 48-17, behind 341 yards passing and four touchdowns from senior quarterback Brian Brohm.
Brohm Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Louisville senior quarterback Brian Brohm was named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his performance at Cincinnati last Saturday night. Brohm completed 28 of 38 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns as Louisville won 28-24 at 15th-ranked Cincinnati to end the Bearcats' nine-game winning streak. Brohm tied a BIG EAST single-season record with his sixth 300-yard game and was 13-for-16 for 151 yards and a touchdown in the second half.
UofL-Pitt Game to Kick Off at Noon ET on ESPN Regional and WHAS-TV
The Cards' homecoming game against Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 27 will kick off at noon ET at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the game will be televised by ESPN Regional and WHAS-TV in Louisville. It will mark the second time a Louisville football game has been televised by ESPN Regional in 2007.
