LOUISVILLE - The University of Louisville football team will make its first over-the-air television appearance since 1997 when the Cardinals take on West Virginia on ABC on Saturday, October 15. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Morgantown, W.Va.

The Cardinals last appeared on ABC back on Sept. 7, 1996 when Louisville fell, 24-7 to 15th-ranked Penn State in Happy Valley. Aside from the numerous ESPN television appearances over the years, the last time the Cardinals appeared on an over-the-air network was Sept. 20, 1997, when top-ranked Penn State defeated Louisville, 57-21 on CBS.

West Virginia and Louisville will meet for the first time since 1993 when the Cardinals dropped a 36-34 decision in Morgantown.

Louisville meets North Carolina on Saturday, October 8, at 4:35 p.m. at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
