LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville football head coach Steve Kragthorpe, junior quarterback Justin Burke and senior cornerback Chaz Thompson met with reporters on Monday to preview Saturday's Governor's Cup showdown at Kentucky. The Cardinals and Wildcats are scheduled to kick off at noon ET at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, Ky., and the game will be televised nationally by ESPNU and locally by WHAS-TV.

The Cardinals enter the game 1-0 after their home-opening win against Indiana State, while Kentucky also enters 1-0 overall following their victory over Miami (Ohio) in Cincinnati. Junior Justin Burke made his first Louisville start, going 17-of-31 for 223 yards, while the running back tandem of Victor Anderson and Bilal Powell combined to rush for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Anderson led the Cardinals with 93 yards on 14 carries and two scores, while Powell was just as effective, running for 76 yards and a score.

Quick Notes
- Junior quarterback Justin Burke returns home to Lexington to face the University of Kentucky. Burke, who made his first career start last week versus Indiana State, was a record-breaking quarterback at Lexington Catholic.

- Since the Kentucky-Louisville series resumed in 1994, the Cardinals are 6-3 at Commonwealth Stadium.

- In three seasons as the head coach of the Cardinals, head coach Steve Kraghtorpe is 3-7 on the road and 1-1 in road openers.

- The Cardinals have lost their last three road games overall. Louisville's last road win was a 35-28 decision at Memphis on Oct. 10, 2008.

The Series - U of L and UK
Louisville and Kentucky will meet for the 22nd time in school history with the Wildcats owning a 12-9 advantage. The Wildcats have won the last two meetings against the Cards, including a 27-2 win at Papa John's Stadium last year. This is the third meeting between Steve Kragthorpe and Rich Brooks. UofL lost 40-34 in their last game in Lexington but have won four of the last five meetings on the road. Since 1994, the Cardinals are 9-6 against Kentucky.
