LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville football program and head coach Steve Kragthorpe opened the 2009 season on Saturday with the annual media day activities at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the Howard L. Schnellenberger Football Complex.

On Saturday, players and coaches met with members of the local, regional and national media to preview the Cards' third season under the leadership of Kragthorpe. After officially opening practice for the upcoming season on Thursday evening, U of L hosted the annual Fan Day activities on Friday evening at PJCS.

Louisville kicks off the 2009 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m., ET against Indiana State at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville. The game will also be televised locally by WHAS-TV.
