Recap |  Notes

Louisville Head Coach John L. Smith

"I think we're starting to find out what it means to be a team and give to one another. I don't know if we've been doing that. It was a great win, it feels good, but we've got to learn to give to one another more. That's the only way you can come together as a football team and that's the only way your teammates respect you. That's what counts. Hopefully today was a lesson in that."

"The defense played well. It was good to see them step up."

"We needed that win because we've got a 13-day break now and we need a good taste in our mouth. We have to start getting ready for Southern Miss now. We better get out and get ready to play on both sides of the ball against them.

"That's a character tester. That's a good situation for our team to be placed in as long as you come out with a win."

Colorado State Head Coach Sonny Lubick

"If you like defense, this was a good ball game. I'm sure that they're over there saying the same thing, because both offenses did not play well tonight."

"Defensively, we came in and met our challenge on stopping the Louisville offense."

"I feel good about this team. They played as hard as they could. I know that the offense did all they could to get the ball into the end zone. We just couldn't get it in the end zone and you have to give Louisville credit for that."

Dave Ragone, Louisville junior quarterback

"Thank God for the defense. The defense played well tonight and showed up ready to play."

"It feels pretty good to get the win. Offensively, we've got to get better."

Dewayne White, Louisville sophomore defensive end

"We faced a lot of adversity through the fourth quarter. The offense had a little trouble, but the defense came through and played a great game. It felt great to redeem ourselves on national television. I was proud of the team as a whole."

"We didn't make many changes defensively from how we played them in the Liberty Bowl. There was no frustration toward the offense. Our defense just played four quarters of hard-nosed football. The team kept coming through."

Zek Parker, Louisville senior wide receiver

"How big was this win? It was the biggest and most important win of my life. We played as hard as we could, fought them for four quarters and it's a real good feeling to beat a good Colorado State team. It feels good to be 5-1."

(on his TD) "It was a great catch. I was open and the ball hit me in the hands and I pulled it in and scored."

(on Colorado State) "It was good to beat them this time and I'm sure we made Coach Smith happy."
