University of Louisville guard Peyton Siva will participate with an 11-player Reach USA team that will play nine games in China on May 14-31.
Siva averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds as a freshman last season for the Cardinals, which posted a 20-13 record and made their 36th NCAA Tournament appearance.
Reach USA, a part of Sports Reach whose purpose is reaching the world through sports, will play nine games against teams from the Chinese Basketball Association. The USA team will be coached by University of Nevada assistant coach Dennis Gates.
Siva is joined on the team by Brandon Barnes (Lipscomb), Carlton Fay (So. Illinois), Josh Harrellson (Kentucky), Jon Hood (Kentucky), Sean Kowal (Northern Illinois), Skylar McBee (Tennessee), Steffphon Pettigrew (Western Kentucky), Xavier Silas (Northern Illinois), Malik Story (Nevada), and Jeremy Williams (UTEP).
Samuels to Remain in NBA Draft
University of Louisville forward Samardo Samuels will remain in the NBA Draft and relinquish his final two collegiate seasons.
A third team All-BIG EAST Conference selection as a sophomore, Samuels averaged a team-high 15.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot 52.4 percent from the field last season. The two-year starter scored in double figures on 53 occasions for his career, totalling 942 points. He scored a career-high 36 points against Notre Dame as a sophomore.
