LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Following a 4-1 week that included two mid-week wins over No. 25 Ohio State and two road wins over BIG EAST foe St. John's, the Louisville baseball team returned to the national rankings on Monday with a No. 23 ranking in the latest Baseball America Top 25.

Louisville, at 36-14 overall and 16-7 in BIG EAST play, is also ranked 26th in the latest Ping!Baseball Top 30, 28th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 30 and 28th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 30, all released on Monday. The return to the national rankings after a six-week hiatus follows a strong two-week stretch for the Cardinals, which included winning 7-of-8 games overall. Louisville has also won nine of its last 10 on the road.

The Cardinals enter the final week of the regular season in second place in the BIG EAST Conference standings, 1 1/2 games behind league leader South Florida. Louisville will host USF in a decisive three-game series starting on Thursday at Jim Patterson Stadium to determine the BIG EAST champion.

Prior to the series with the Bulls, Louisville will travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to face Western Kentucky on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET, in the second and final game of the season with the Hilltoppers. The Cards earned a 7-6 over WKU on March 25 in Louisville.

Following the mid-week game at WKU, the Cardinals will host the three-game series with the Bulls, which is set to begin on Thursday at 6 p.m. The series will continue on Friday at 6 p.m., and will conclude on Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission is free for all three games with USF.
