2005: Started four games at catcher, playing in 10. Drove in 4 runs in 15 at bats. Singled in win over Wright State (5/16). Smacked a bases-loaded double to the gap in win at SLU (4/23a) in pinch hit appearance. Scored and drove in a run in win over Toledo (2/26). Was 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored in his D-1 debut (2/20).
Monroe CC: Played two seasons for Monroe Community College at catcher. Hit .260 his sophomore season with a pair of doubles and a triple.
High School: Played baseball at Port Richmond HS as a catcher for coach Frank Gugliemo. Named All-New York City, Staten Island Advance All-Star and Daily News All-Star twice. Lead the team in doubles his senior year and hit .360. Batted .390 his sophomore season.
Personal: Born 12/20/84 in Staten Island, New York to Janet and Anthony Urti. Has two older siblings. He is majoring in exercise science at U of L and would like to become a physical therapist. Biggest thrills in sports was playing in Shea Stadium at the age of 16. His father was his greatest influence on him growing up in athletics. Enjoys baseball, golf and listening to music in his spare time. Vegas Vacation is his favorite movie. Likes watching SportsCenter. Pudge Rodriguez is his favorite athlete and the Yankees are his favorite team. Likes to eat Italian food, Raisin Bran and Snickers Marathon. His dream dinner guests would be Ted Williams, Joe Dimaggio and Mickey Mantle to talk a little baseball with. People may not know that he likes to read the Bible and Christian books. His brother played baseball at Slippery Rock, and his cousin played football at Stony Brook.
