2005: Spent his senior season in the outfield and at DH, hitting .293 in C-USA games. Had eight doubles, a triple and two home runs, while driving in 23 runs. Made just one error in the field. His two-run single with the bases-loaded helped U of L to a 5-2 win over UAB (5/21) on Senior Day. Was 1 for 2 with a walk and an RBI double in win over UAB (5/19). Doubled in a run and scored a run in win over Evansville (5/17). Homered and drove in two in win a Charlotte (5/6). Went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in win over USM (5/1). Doubled in 2 for 4 effort against USM(4/29a) Belted his first career grand slam, driving in five in win at SLU (4/24). Was 2 for 4 with two walks. Tripled home two runs, scored twice, added a walk and a 9-2 double play, nailing a runner at the plate in the ninth against ECU(4/16). Doubled twice, driving in two runs in win over #1 Tulane (3/25). Was 2 for 3 against Tulane All-American Brian Bogusevich(3/26b). Singled, scored and drove in a run in 7-4 win over #12 Georgia (3/13). Singled and scored in win over Toledo (2/25).
2004: Saw action in just 10 games, before injuries forced him sit out the season with a medical redshirt.
2003: Battled injuries all season long, but logged innings at first, second, third, the outfield and DH. Had a strong outing at DH in win over Evansville(4/1), going 3 for 3 with two runs, two RBI and a walk. Produced 2 for 4 effort in win against USF(3/29). Caught fire in three-game set against USM, going 6 for 11 with three RBI and three walks. Blasted a solo home run in Louisville's win over Memphis(3/16) Tripled home a run in win over Memphis(3/15). Made AD Honor Roll and Dean's List.
2002: Batted .326 with 11 doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 46 RBI while stealing seven bases in 10 attempts while at St. Louis CC at Forest Park . Named to the 2002 All-Regional team.
2001: Helped the team to the NJCAA World Series while earning All-Region honors. Drafted by the Yankees in the 2001 MLB Draft. Hit .343 with 10 doubles, three triples, three home runs and 43 RBI in his initial campaign at Forest Park. Was 11 for 14 on steals as a freshman. Team won the District I title.
High School: An All-State performer as a senior and All-Conference three years, winning four letters in baseball at Springfield High School. Played third and shortstop and pitched for the Senators. Posted a .358 career batting average in high school while setting several offensive and pitching records. Tossed a perfect game his junior year at Springfield HS.
Personal: Born 10/20/81 in Springfield, Illinois to Dennis and Sally Taylor. Is majoring in sports administration with a minor in marketing. Dad-"introduced me to baseball and coached me up to high school," and mom-"her great support," had the greatest influence on him in his athletic career. Favorite movies include Top Gun, Old School and The Natural. Pizza and steak are his favorite food and Golden Grahams is his favorite cereal. The Cubs are his top team and Scott Rolen is his favorite athlete. Dream dinner guests would be Will Farrell, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn.
