High School: Played four seasons of prep baseball for coach Todd Hopkins at Marquette Academy. Ranked as one of the top 250 players in the nation in the class of 2011 by Perfect Game USA. Was selected as team MVP all four years of varsity career. Ranked No. 1 defensive player and No. 4 hitter in Illinois as a senior. Four-time All-Area selection. Hit .495 with nine home runs, 14 doubles and 10 stolen bases as a senior and hit .500 with eight home runs, 56 RBI, 25 doubles and 11 stolen bases as a junior as Marquette went 31-6 overall and reached the state quarterfinals. As a sophomore, hit .490 with nine home runs, 18 doubles and 13 stolen bases after hitting .506 with two home runs, 22 doubles, 47 RBI and 10 stolen bases as a prep freshman. Played in 2010.Perfect Game National Showcase. Was a prep teammate at Marquette with current Cardinal Joe Ceja.

Personal: Born Mason Robert Snyder on April 21, 1993 in Evanston, Ill. Son of Rob and Kim Snyder. Has one brother, Evan. Majoring in justice administration at U of L. After college, he hopes to play professional baseball. People with the greatest influence on his athletic career are his parents who led him in the right direction and were always there to support him. Hobbies and outside interests include golf and fishing. Favorite movies are Never Back Down and anything with Will Ferrell. Favorite TV show is SportsCenter. Favorite athletes are Josh Hamilton and Dustin Pedroia. Favorite cereal is Raisin Bran. Favorite candy bar is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Favorite foods are prime rib and crab legs. Favorite teams are the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Blackhawks. Favorite restaurant is Lawry's Prime Rib in Chicago. Enjoys listening to country music.
