High School: Played four seasons of baseball for coach Scott Ellis at Bishop Kelley High School. Earned All-State honors and was a three-time All-Metro selection. As a senior, hit .463 with 10 home runs, 18 doubles and eight stolen bases while leading Bishop Kelley to a state championship. High school career record holder in doubles (53) and sacrifices (42). Three-year letterwinner in football as an outside linebacker earning All-Conference honors. Also earned two letters in basketball as a shooting guard.
Personal: Born Cameron Daniel O'Brien on Aug. 9, 1992 in New York. Son of Traci and Charlie O'Brien. Has three siblings, Andi, Alisha and Chris. Undecided on a major at U of L. After college, he hopes to play professional baseball or own his own business. Person with the greatest influence on his athletic career was his dad because he pushed him to get better and taught him to play the game of baseball. Hobbies and outside interests include hunting and fishing. Favorite movie is Any Given Sunday. Favorite TV show is Baseball Tonight. Favorite athletes are Gary Sheffield and Ray Lewis. Favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Favorite candy bar is Milky Way. Favorite foods are steak and salad. Favorite teams are the Atlanta Braves and Oklahoma City Thunder. Favorite restaurants are Lone Star Steakhouse and Olive Garden. His father Charlie played 15 seasons of Major League Baseball as a catcher while his brother Chris was a standout catcher at Wichita State and is currently in the Los Angeles Dodgers farm system.
