High School: Played four seasons of prep baseball for coach Greg Lauder at Butler High School. Named 2011 Gatorade Kentucky Player of the Year and was a First Team All-State selection and was named Region 6 Player of the Year after hitting .450 with 11 home runs, 36 RBIs, 25 runs scored, .985 slugging percentage and 10 stolen bases while leading Butler to state tournament appearance. Was a 2010 First Team All-State selection. Also earned three letters in football as a quarterback for Butler. Attended same high school as current Cardinal Travis Tingle, current U of L transfer Kyle McGrath and former Cardinal All-BIG EAST infielder Adam Duvall.

After college, he would like to be a physical therapist. Person with the greatest influence on his athletic career was his dad who always pushed him to work hard because it would pay off.
