2009: Made three appearances for the Cards before his season was cut short due to injury. Finished 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 9.1 innings. Allowed two earned runs on six hits on April 14 against UK in his third career start. Earned his first career win with a strong 4.0 innngs against IU on April 7. Allowed only three hits and no runs with career-high five strikeouts in the win over the Hoosiers. Made his collegiate debut by striking out the side in order in the first inning against Ball State on April 1. Allowed two earned runs on three hits in 2.1 innings against BSU. Named to AD Honor Roll and a BIG EAST Academic All-Star. High School: Earned four letters in baseball at St. Peter-Marian High School where he was coached by Peter Coyle. Named Rawlings All-American and All-Region. Named to Telegram and Gazette All-Star Team in 2007 and 2008. Was 7-2 as a senior, 6-1 with a 1.97 ERA as a junior and 5-2 with a 0.92 ERA as a sophomore. Led team to state semifinals. Also earned two letters in basketball playing center. Selected in the 18th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. Keith played for the 2002 Little League World Series U.S. runner-up that lost to Valley Station (Louisville) Ky. in the championship game. He's from the same hometown as MLB pitcher Tanyon Sturtze and NFL player Jerry Azumah. |
