2003: Selected as the #11 senior prospect in the nation by Baseball America entering the 2004 slate. Limited to 32 games after he underwent surgery to repair his right hand that was injured in the season opener, a game that saw him drive in the winning run in the same at bat the injury happened. Still managed to hit 11 doubles, three triples and five home runs, while driving in 33 in just 130 at-bats. Was 5 for 13 with nine RBI, cracking his second career grand slam at TCU. Drilled his fourth home run of the season at EKU(5/13). Picked up a hit in each of the three games against Tulane, going 3 for 4 in the opener. Homered and score three times, going 3 for 5 in win at Xavier. Had a huge weekend at Cincinnati, hitting .417 with a double, a triple and two home runs, driving in nine runs. Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 13th round. Member of AD honor roll.

2002: A third team NCBWA All-American and first team All-Conference selection, while ranking in the top nine in seven major offensive categories in C-USA. Hit .365(6th) with 147 total bases(4th), five triples(2nd), 16 home runs(4th), 60 RBI(7th) a .443 OB%(9th) and .724 slugging percentage(2nd). Named Louisville Slugger National and C-USA Player of the Week after going 7 for 12 with a double, five home runs, 10 RBI, seven runs, two walks, 23 total bases, and a 1.917 slugging percentage. Hit .538, with six home runs and 19 RBI in first 11 games of the season. Amassed 23 multi-hit and 18 multi-RBI games to lead the team. Did not commit an error during the regular season playing right field. Was 5-5 on steals and was intentionally walked six times. Went 3 for 9 during the regional tournament. Drove in 30 runs in 29 C-USA games. Had four RBI in three different games. Spent the summer with the USA Baseball National Team, hitting .271. Was 5 for 9 with six RBI and five runs scored in back-to-back wins during the FISU World University Baseball Championships in Italy. NCBWA pre-season All-American selection as well as All C-USA by Baseball America and coach's poll.

2001: Named Louisville Slugger Honorable Mention Freshman All-American and C-USA All-Freshman last season. Tied for the team lead in home runs, going deep seven times and lead the team in slugging percentage at .521. Played in 52 games, starting 41 as a redshirt freshman in right field and at DH. Hit .327 in 23 conference games. Was second on the team with 23 walks and 13 doubles. Singled off of national player of the year Mark Prior in his first college game at USC(2/3). Drove in three runs in two different games. Was 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBI against Morehead State(5/8). Was 4 for 8 with three RBI in the Cards series win over Houston(4/27-29), driving in the winning runs in both victories. Had three outfield assists.

2000: Redshirted. Made AD honor roll, Red & Black Scholar, C-USA Honor Roll and Dean's List.

High School: Played baseball, football and wrestled for the Bruins at Louisville's Ballard H.S. Was a WR/DB/LB and was named all-district in football. Named to the all-district, all-regional and all-county teams as a junior and senior in baseball, as well as all-semi state his final season.

Personal: Born 12-29-80 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Parents are Tom and Terrilynn. Majoring in business management. Dad is Director of Athletics at Louisville, his greatest influence in sports and played for the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. Biggest thrill in sports was advancing to the first regional in U of L history. Mark's dream golf foursome would include Johnny Depp, Vince Vaughn and Kiera Knightely. Dazed & Confused, Supertroopers and Out Cold are among his favorite movies. The Simpsons is his favorite TV show. Cheers for the Dodgers, Rockies, Broncos and Avalanche. Not many people know this, but he is a pack rat. Likes listening to music, watching movies and hanging out with friends in his spare time. Favorite food is Italian.
