2002: Named to the H & B Freshman All-American Team, the Conference USA All-Freshman team and second team All-Conference, posting a 10-3 record. Tied the Louisville single season record for wins in just his first season, tying him for second in C-USA. Started 14 games, tying him in the seventh spot at U of L in a single season. Opponents hit .254 against Jackson in 83.0 innings of work. Put up 4.0 scoreless innings of relief in two outings before earning a start in which he posted 5.0 strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits for his first win. Was 7-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 10 starts in C-USA action. Best effort of the season was complete-game effort at East Carolina(5/16) in which he allowed just a single run on five hits and two walks to go with four K's. Had a carer-high seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings against Memphis(5/17). Went at least five innings in 11 of his 14 starts.

High School: A four year letterwinner and three-time All-Area honoree while pitching for the Seneca Valley Raiders. Also named all-state after his senior season after which he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 50th round. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette selected him as player of the year in the state of Pennsylvania after posting a 6-2 record with 84 strikeouts in 41 innings and a 1.40 ERA. Finished his career with a 26-4 record and 12 home runs. He was 9-1 as a sophomore and 8-1 his junior season. Also hit .368 with four home runs, 22 RBIs and 18 runs. Ranked by Baseball America as one of the top five high school prospects in the state. Struck out 17 in a single game during the playoffs. Tabbed on the Baseball America/Perfect Game World Wood Bat Championship All-Tournament team.

Personal: Born 5/13/83 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania to Tom and Susan Jackson. Has selected sports administration as his major at U of L. Wears a size 16 shoe. Lists Curt Schilling as his favorite player. Is a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His parents have been the greatest influence on his athletic career, and if he could eat dinner with any three people fictitious or real, he would dine with his folks...and Britney Spears-"in case my folks are boring company." Doubled off of Gavin Floyd-the 4th overall pick in the 2000 draft, who is the best athlete he ever faced. Dumb and Dumber is his favorite movie. Enjoys working out, boating and being with friends in his spare time.
