2005: Went 3-1 with a 3.42 ERA in 17 appearances as a junior. Worked two scoreless innings against UAB (5/20). Struck out one in a scoreless ninth in the Cards' shutout of Morehead (5/4). Worked two innings out of the pen not allowing an earned run in win against MSU (4/27), matching a career-high with four K's. Earned the win at Xavier (4/20), allowing a run on five hits and a walk in four innings. Gave up a run on three hits in four quality innings of relief against USF(4/3a). Notched 1.1 scoreless innings out of the pen against #1 Tulane (3/26b). Recorded the final two outs of the ninth to earn his second win of the season(3/15). Allowed a hit and struck out two in 1.1 innings as the Cards upset #12 Georgia (3/12a). Twirled two solid innings of relief in game one of a doubleheader against Miami (3/6), allowing a hit and fanning two. Earned the win over EKU (2/23) inducing a double-play ground ball by the only batter he faced. Struck out a pair in a perfect inning of work against Kent (2/20).
2004: Picked up his first win of the season, retiring the only two batters he faced against Charlotte(4/16). Allowed just one earned run in 4.2 innings of relief against Kent(3/5). Notched his first career save in win over Illinois State(2/28), allowing a hit in 1.2 innings, fanning three. Gave up just one earned run in 2.0 innings of work against EKU(2/25). Finished out the USC(2/20) game with four innings of work, allowing two earned runs, striking out Jeff Clement, 2003 National Freshman of the Year twice.
2003: Had his strongest outing as a Cardinal in his first career start earning the win over Tulane(5/11), allowing just one unearned run on three hits in five innings. Earlier in the week he struck out two in three innings of one-hit ball at UK(5/7). Tossed a perfect inning of relief at Western(3/25). Made AD and C-USA Honor Roll as well as Red & Black Scholar, Dean's List and recipient of the Academic Medal.
High School: Prepped for the Orillia District Blue Devils, lettering in football, rugby and soccer, as there was no organized high school baseball offered. Played defensive end for the football team, and goalie on the soccer team. Named to the honor roll his first three years of high school and won the accounting award his senior season.
Personal: Born 5/26/84 in Brampton, Ontario. His parents are Stephen and Karen Harbridge. Major is marketing, was named to the A.D. Honor roll his first semester of college. Is an only child. Biggest thrill in athletics is playing with the Canadian Junior National Team and representing his country. Would like to own his own car dealership someday after college. Lists sports, music and guitar as his hobbies. Favorite movies are Dumb and Dumber, Zoolander and The Last Samurai. Favorite TV show is Friends. Roger Clemens, Nolan Ryan, and Wayne Gretzky are his favorite athletes. Follows the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Not many people know that Jon is adopted. Fourth overall pick in the 2002 MLB Draft, Adam Loewen is the toughest athlete he has faced. Dream golf foursome would be Ryan, Jesus and his father, whom he counts as his greatest influence on him.
