2005: Posted a 3-1 record with a 3.65 ERA and eight saves, placing him fifth for a single season at Louisville. Ended the season tied for fifth on the career list for appearances (71) and third in saves (15) as he heads into his senior season. His 26 outings in '05 ties him for ninth on the list. Six of his saves were in C-USA games. Tallied save number eight on the season, striking out three in two scoreless innings against UAB (5/21). Picked up his seventh save of the season, tossing a scoreless ninth in win over UAB (5/19). Struck out two in the final two innings of a shutout of Evansville (5/17). Earned his third win of the season, retiring all 12 batters he faced at Charlotte(5/8), tossing just 28 pitches in four perfect innings. Picked up his sixth save of the season and 13th of his career, tossing a scoreless ninth in win at Charlotte (5/6). 2004: Notched the sixth-best single season save total in Cardinal history(6), placing him fifth in C-USA. Added six wins overall with four of those wins and four saves in C-USA play. In his second start of the season, he went a career-high seven innings, allowing two runs at #14 USM(5/9). Earned save number six, nailing down win over TCU(5/2a). Tossed the final two frames to earn fifth save of the season in win at #12 Tulane(4/9). Won his ninth consecutive collegiate decision with five innings of relief, fanning a career-best eight in 11-inning thriller over Memphis(4/4). Earned his fourth save of the season with a perfect two-thirds against UC(3/28). Got win number four against UC(3/27). Picked up his third save of the season with 2.2 innings of work against UC(3/26). Twirled 2.2 scoreless, allowing one hit, fanning two, earning the win at UAB(3/20), and followed that up the next day with 2.1 frames of one-hit ball for the win over the Blazers. Picked up save number two on the season with two-innings of two-hit ball, striking out two Bearcats(3/14). Worked 2.2 innings against BSU(3/12), allowing two unearned runs on four hits, striking out three. Tossed four innings of two-hit ball, striking out two, earning a save against MSU(3/10). Hurled 3.2 hitless innings, fanning five against Kent(3/6). Picked up the win over EKU(2/25) with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief.

2003: Made a strong appearance in conference play with 2.2 scoreless at TCU(5/17). Tallied a win over EKU(5/13) with three innings of one-hit, one-run ball, fanning three. Tossed six strong frames in second career start earning the win over IPFW(4/28). Scattered six hits over six innings, leading to one run. Walked none and struck out four. Tallied a win against UK(4/22) coming out of the pen and allowing three hits in 2.2 innings of work. Notched a win in his first collegiate start at Xavier(4/16), facing the minimum through six, including a stretch where he retired 14 in a row. Twirled five brilliant innings of relief at Evansville to pick up his first career save. Put the side down in order in the first four innings, allowing an unearned run on two hits in the ninth, striking out five. Tossed a scoreless ninth, allowing a hit and striking out one against USF(3/28). Put the side down in order in the eighth at Western(3/25). Made his college debut with three strong innings of relief in win over Butler(2/27). Gave up just a hit and a walk while striking out one. Made the AD Honor Roll.

High School: A three-year letterwinner as a middle infielder and pitcher in baseball, earning All-State, All-Region and All-District. Picked up two letters in basketball at guard and football as a quarterback. Hit .345 and was 7-5 with a 3.05 ERA as a junior. Posted a .371 average with 12 doubles, a 9-3 record, three saves, a 1.23 ERA and 115 strikeouts while being named team MVP. Tossed a three-hit shutout against St. Xavier his sophomore year.

Personal: Born 2/23/84 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ed and Donna Halford. Major is sports administration. Hobbies and interests include sports, cars and games. His favorite team is the Boston Red Sox and Pedro Martinez and Roger Clemens are his favorite players. Favorite TV show is The Simpsons. Enjoys Mexican and Italian food as well as Frosted Cheerios and Zero candy bars. His dad played football at Eastern Kentucky. He would like to be joined by his dad, who is his biggest influence, God and Ted Williams on the golf course. Once went to the Dominican Republic to play baseball, his biggest thrill in sports. His favorite movie is The Rookie. Jeremy Sowers is the best athlete he has ever faced. Attended the same HS as Cubs reliever Todd Wellemeyer.
