2008 Second Team All-BIG EAST

2008: Named Second Team All-BIG EAST, batting .323 with 13 doubles, five triples, five home runs and 44 RBI. Walked a team-high 33 times, striking out just 23 times. Stole eight bases in nine attempts, starting 60 of the 62 games. Had a huge BIG EAST Championship game, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double and a stolen base. Went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks in win over Villanova in the BIG EAST Championship semifinal (5/23). Was 7-of-14 with a home run in three-game set at WVU. Collected four hits and win at IU (5/6). Homered in the win at GU (5/4). Made the BIG EAST Weekly honor roll (4/21). Went 5-for-9 with four doubles, three RBI and two runs in pair of wins over Villanova. Was 4-for-5 with a walk, a stolen base, two runs, four RBI and the third of three consecutive home runs in the win at Ohio State (4/16). Ole Miss: Spent a portion of his freshman season in Oxford, batting .311 with four doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs and 14 walks in just 30 games. Homered and doubled in his first college game in a win against New Orleans. He crushed a two-run shot to the upper deck in the Metrodome, going 5-for-6 at the plate with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in a doubleheader at Minnesota. Won the batting award and MVP of the DQ Classic in the Twin Cities.

High School: Named Indiana's Gatorade Player of the Year and an AFLAC All-American as a senior, batting .506 with 11 home runs and 38 RBI. A three-time All-State selection and four-time All-Conference honoree. Batted .475 for his career with 26 home runs, 137 RBI, 33 doubles, eight triples and 135 runs scored. Drafted in the 18th round by the Milwaukee Brewers following his senior season. Took the hill as well his first three seasons, posting a 28-0 record and an 0.84 ERA, posting four saves. Amassed 300 K's in 194.0 IP. A Louisville Slugger All-American as a junior. Won his high school's first state title in 2004 with the Dragons, blasting a two-run home runs to put the team up 3-2, and securing it with four shutouts innings. Also lettered two years in basketball at power forward, winning a conference title his junior season.

Personal: Born to Danny and Cheryl Clark on 8/12/87 in Indianapolis. Is majoring in sport administration at U of L. Would like to play pro baseball after college. His father is his greatest influence on his athletic career. Likes basketball, weightlifiting, church, hanging out with friends, fast cars and watching movies like For the Love of The Game, Hitch, Bad Boys II and Gone in 60 Seconds. His favorite TV shows are Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saved by the Bell, Two and a Half Men and CSI Miami. His favorite athletes are LeBron James, Reggie Bush and Tiger Woods. His favorite foods include anything Italian, BBQ chicken, cheeseburgers, Mexican food and eating out at Taco Bell, O'Charley's and Ruth's Chris. Cheers for the Colts and Yankees. Listens to country, rap and R&B music. Would like to have dinner with God, his family and Hank Aaron. Vandy pitcher David Price is the best athlete he ever faced. Not many people know that he used to participate in music and drama when he was a lot younger. His cousin Justin Beriault played for the Dallas Cowboys.
