High School: A two-year letterwinner in baseball as a catcher at Casa Robles HS under coach Jerry Crews. Earned first team All-League in the Capital Athletic League. Graduated with high academic honors. Lead the Rams to the playoffs and the 2nd spot in Northern California.
Personal: Born 10/12/82 in Carmichael, California to Tom and Cheryl Carden. Is majoring in sports medicine and would like to be a physical therapist after college. Has one younger brother. Greatest moment in athletic career was after being chosen the 18th man on his freshman team, becoming All-League in HS and eventually coming to U of L. The two Rush Hour movies are his favorites. His hobbies and interests are competing, coaching, wakeboarding and snowboarding. One Tree Hill is his favorite TV show. Mike Bibby, Khalil Greene and Hank Blaylock are his favorite athletes. Listens to a little bit of everything in terms of music. Pasta is his favorite food, Golden Grahams are his favorite cereal and Take Five is his favorite candy bar. He follows the Kings, Giants, 49ers and Angels. His dream golf group would be his best friend Chris, Michael Jordan, Phil Mickelson and Vince Vaughn. Texas pitcher J.P. Howell is the best athlete he has faced. Once played in a celebrity All-Star game with Gaylord Perry, Harmon Killebrew, Ferguson Jenkins and others.
