For the first time in school history, the University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team is ranked in the Top 20 in the College Swim Coaches Association of America Poll. The women are ranked a school record No. 15. The Cardinal men's team join their counterparts with a No. 17 ranking in the CSCAA.

The Cardinal men knocked off BIG EAST rivals WVU and Pitt in their two dual meets thus far. The Cardinal women have upset Tennessee, and beat WVU, Pitt, and Miami. They also placed second behind Florida in the SMU Classic.

"This is a big deal," said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero. "It is tangible proof of the progress we have made as a program."

Louisville is the highest ranked team in the BIG EAST and the men are ranked above regional rivals Indiana and Kentucky.

The rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged by voting coaches. Rankings are announced four times. In both polls over 50 teams were represented.
