Captain Jenny Schimenti is coming off the momentum of a very successful junior season where she put in a number of strong swims for the Cardinals. She achieved personal best times in the 200-fly and 400 IM at the 2007-08 BIG EAST Championships, qualifying for the consols in both events. She is another one of the Cardinals big dual meet point scorers, swimming a variety of events. As a sophomnore, for the second straight year, she helped set the 400-medley relay school record at the BIG EAST Conference Championship. She was a 2007 US Open participant as well. In 2005-06, she also scored points at the BIG EAST in the B Finals in the 100-fly which was a lifetime best as well. She comes to U of L from Lassiter High School. Named Cobb County Swimmer of the Year, she finished first at the 2003 Southern Zone Championship in the 100-fly. In 2004, at the Southern Zone Senior Sectional Short Course, she finished 7th in the 200-fly. She helped the Marietta Marlins to a second place team finish in 2003 and third in the short course senior state. She was a two-time All-State team member, earned All-American status twice and set four school records. She swam for club coach Yit Lim. She was also recruited by Ohio State and Virginia Tech. Personal: She is the daughter of Robert and Robin Schimenti. She is majoring in exercise science and public health education. She was born Aug. 2, 1987.
