Men's Swimming Leads Tennessee Invitational; Women Are Third After Day 1

Riley Martin highlights Day 1 with strong 500-free showing

Last Year: Scott redshirted.

Junior: Scott competed in the 100- and 200 breast, 200- and 400-IM, and 200-medley relay during his junior season for the Cardinals. He finished in the top ten in the 200-IM at the Purdue Invitational with a time of 1:53.87.

Prior to U of L: Scott came to U of L from Jacksonville, Fla. He is a transfer from Indian River Community College. He swam for Wolfson High School and under John Carraway at the Southside Athletic Club. Scott placed third in the 200-IM and the 400-IM at the 2009 NJCAA Nationals.

Prep: While in high school, he compiled four top five finishes at Indiana High School state championships. Scott is an eight time National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association All-American. He was undefeated in individual events during his last two years of high school and was voted most valuable swimmer all four years of high school.

Personal: He is the son of Dale and Sue Gunter. Born November 1, 1988. Major is sports administration.
