Cardinal Caravan Will Make Six Area Stops

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville coaches and athletics staff members will make six stops in June with the "Cardinal Caravan" in an effort to reach out to U of L fans. "We're pleased to have the opportunity during this annual tour for our staff to have personal contact with the fans that are with us all season," said Tom Jurich, Vice President and Director of Athletics at U of L. "Our fans are legendary in their support of our teams and there is a growing excitement as we move to the BIG EAST Conference this season. This Caravan is a chance for us to visit with and personally thank those that have been there for many years, as well as the growing numbers of new U of L supporters, who are passionate about Cardinal Athletics." The Cardinal Caravan will kick off on June 6 in southern Indiana at Huber's Farm and Winery from 7-9 p.m. Selected members of the U of L coaching and support staff will also visit Jillian's in Covington, Ky. on June 7 from 6-8 p.m.; Bunbaker's in Elizabethtown, Ky. on June 8 from 5:30-7 p.m.; Mike Linnig's in southern Louisville on June 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; St. Stephen's Family Life Center in west Louisville on June 13 from 6-8 p.m.; and Kye's I in southern Indiana on June 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Among those scheduled to appear at selected stops at the free events are Jurich, men's basketball coach Rick Pitino, football coach Bobby Petrino, women's basketball coach Tom Collen and the national champion U of L cheerleaders and Cardinal Bird. All stops are free to the public and each will have food and beverages available as well as music, commemorative T-shirt giveaways, a special Caravan issue of the Louisville SportsReport and drawings for Cardinal prizes. June 14th Southern Indiana-East (Jeffersonville) Stay on I-65 North through downtown Louisville and over the Ohio River. As you cross the bridge into Indiana, you will want to be in the right hand lane. Take the very first exit (Jeffersonville, Exit 0). At the light at the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left on Court Avenue. Go straight to the stoplight at the foot of the Second Street Bridge.
