LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville coaches and athletics staff members will visit six regional sites in May and early June with its ninth annual "Cardinal Caravan" in an effort to reach out to U of L fans.

"This annual Caravan is a great way for our coaches and staff to show our appreciation to all the Cardinal fans around the region that support us through all of our sports seasons," said Tom Jurich, Vice President and Director of Athletics at U of L. "There's a great deal of excitement as we open new and expanded venues in the coming year and this event is one way we visit with and personally say thank you face-to-face to many Cardinal fans."

The Cardinal Caravan will kick off on May 12 in Owensboro, Ky. at River Park Center at 5:30 p.m. Members of the U of L coaching and support staff will also visit Captain's Quarters in Louisville on May 13 at 5:30 p.m.; the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area at Molly Malone's Irish Pub in Covington, Ky. on May 19 at 6 p.m.; Three Putt Willie's in Elizabethtown, Ky. on May 20 at 5:30 p.m.; Southern Indiana at Huber's Orchard and Winery in Starlight, Ind. on May 26 at 6 p.m.; and the Shelby County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Shelbyville, Ky. on June 1 at 5:30 p.m.

The 2010 Cardinal Caravan will include free t-shirts to the first 100 fans at each site and appearances by the national champion U of L cheerleaders, Ladybirds and Cardinal Bird. New U of L football coach Charlie Strong is expected to attend most of the free events, as well as Jurich and additional U of L coaches and staff members.
